The Barksdale Academy
offers a unique room and boarding program, which is designed
to alleviate your dog missing you while you are
away.
We know it’s
hard to leave your dog behind when you travel, but imagine if
your pooch could go on a little vacation of its own. At The Barksdale
Academy, we offer CAGE-FREE BOARDING.
That means, your dog will enjoy the comforts of home while you
are away.
Unlike people, dogs do not need a hot, sandy beach
to be on vacation.
Instead, they need 22,000 square feet of open space, other
dogs to play with, and a warm bed or couch to sleep
on. Mix in a lot of
affection and some site seeing, and you will have a happy pup
when you return.
Of course they’ll
miss you, but just not as much.
In
order for you dog to enjoy a stay at The Barksdale
Academy
, they will have to go
through an orientation process.
First, your dog will
need to be current with their vaccinations. This includes
rabies, parvo, distemper, and bordetella. Your dog will be in
contact with other pups, so we just want to ensure everyone's
safety. Our goal is to return a
tired, but healthy, dog back to you. (If you don’t have a
copy, your vet could probably fax us your dog’s shot record to

Second, we would
like for you and your dog to come in for an orientation on
campus. We
like to show off what we offer, and we would like for you to
get to know us.
Orientations last about 30 minutes and include a
tour of the facility, interaction with a few of our current
four-legged students, and an interview. We want to make
sure that your dog will have a great time, and that you are
comfortable with parting ways with your pooch for a few
days.
Lastly,
we have some paperwork for you to fill out.
* After
5pm - Drop your pup off after 5pm to take advantage of
Barksdale Standard Boarding Rate.

Before 5pm, but after 11am - Your pup will enjoy a half-day of
day care at Barksdale's ½ Day
Rate, and then will spend the night with
us at Barksdale's Standard Boarding Rate.

Before 11am - Your pup will enjoy a full day at Northeast
Ohio’s Largest Dog Day Care at Barksdale's Daily Rate, and
then will spend the night with us at Barksdale's Standard
Boarding Rate.

Before 9am - Pick your pup up before 9am to get him or her
home to the family. Sure, they will miss out on some
dynamite social time, but they also want to go home and see
the family.
* After
9am, but before 11am - Your pup will enjoy a half-day of day
care at Barksdale's ½ Day
Rate , and then
will be able to be home in time for
lunch.
* After
11am -
Your pup will enjoy a full day at Northeast Ohio’s Largest
Dog Day Care at Barksdale's Daily Rate,
and then will be able to be home in time for
dinner.
